This is a 3-dimensional painting, where the aluminium cans are represented in various stages of "development" of "becoming" a painterly object. The painting depicts a developing and transitioning of the forms.
This work incorporates 2- dimensional and real can and paint brush partially covered by canvas and paint. The elements of painting are captured here in a frenzy of evolution. Line, color, under-painting, background, sketch, canvas, the real and its depiction collide to create a painting that goes beyond its limits and can be viewed from different angles. Like Giorgio Morandi, during World War II I'm painting and repainting the mundane to show its possibilities. At the same time commentary as well as a denial of the bigger issues. Transformation & the mundane in a time of peril.
