In this mixed media work, I collapse time and space by fusing the front and back of split canvases into a single plane—creating not just an image but an event: a fracture where past, present, and future collide in uneasy proximity. This piece explores violence not as a singular act, but as a rupture that reverberates across dimensions, exposing the mechanics of harm and the fragility of the narratives we construct to contain it.

By laying bare the raw underbelly of the canvas, I reveal what is typically hidden in both art and experience, showing how acts of aggression tear through the boundaries we impose between cause and effect, memory and reality.

This isn’t just a moment captured—it’s a moment unraveling.
The Wandering Jew plant appears twice: as impression and as wreckage—embodying trauma’s dual presence as both past wound and present condition. A quiet still life interrupted. The interplay of 2D and 3D elements underscores the tension between defiance and vulnerability, while playful, almost absurd exaggerations in form belie the gravity of what they convey, reflecting how we often aestheticize or trivialize what wounds us most.

The exposed structure—torn, penetrated, and raw—challenges the illusion of wholeness, suggesting that what appears separate is inextricably linked, and what seems resolved is already broken.

This work is a meditation on the persistence of violence’s traces, where every action bleeds into another realm, reshaping the stories we tell about ourselves. It invites viewers to confront the uncomfortable coexistence of moments—before, during, and after harm—and to question how we navigate the fractured timelines of our own histories.
